A Youth Substance Abuse Education Ministry

The Seth Foundation was founded because of the death of my 18 year-old son, Seth. I watched my son and my family struggle with his drug use for two years, starting with prescription drugs such as Soma and Oxycontin and ended with his use of Heroin. I want to help educate parents and especially kids on how dangerous drug use is. I would like to bring about awareness of the HUGE problem that no one wants to talk about.

Most of the time, when someone wants to get help it can take weeks or months to get into a rehab program. I would like these young people to have somewhere to go immediately, when they decide they’re ready for help -- and to be able to offer them something positive right away so they are less likely to change their minds.

Seth was a wonderful kid who got caught up in something really bad. I want to honor his memory by making sure parents and kids have the information we did not have to help my son.

Develop and manage a resource center for parents and teens, which provides information on education and treatment options for teenagers facing drug addiction and treatment.

Develop programs specifically designed to have a physical presence and involvement in the primary and middle schools to educate students and teachers to help prevent the problem of teenage drug usage.

Work closely with local, County, and State, and as necessary, Federal officials, to change laws and/or advocate on behalf of teenagers facing addiction in order to pass better legislation for their treatment and the punishment of those who provide drugs to them.

Establish a youth ministry, a cornerstone of our corporate beliefs, to complete the support that these recovering teens will need.

Establish and maintain Seth's House, a temporary housing facility for teens who are requesting rehab, but for whom there isn't a facility immediately available.
